We are North Queensland's largest Retailer of South Africa's favourite brands, products and delicacies.​Our aim is to make South African Products accessible to anyone, anywhere in Australia.​ Our goal is to provide a friendly, family based store with great pricing and a central location.

Biltong Shack is owned and operated by Les and Simone Herselman and we welcome you aboard our online shopping site. Coming from South Africa we realise how important it is to immigrants to enjoy the tastes of Africa that we have all grown up with and to share it with our newly found Australian friends. Our aims is to ensure you are able to get what you want when you want it and hope to enable you to enjoy the tastes of Africa that you love.

 

We are continually adding exciting new products to our already huge range.

 

We stock foods such as Maize meal (pap) Mrs Ball's chutney, Ouma Rusks, Bakers Biscuits, Simba chips, Spur sauces, Steers sauces and marinades as well as Biltong, DryWors, Boerewors, Koeksisters and Samoosas. We are now also licensed to sell South African liquor as part of a gift basket.



Should you have a product request, contact us with as much detail as possible including the Manufacturer's name, product name. We will then try and source it for you and place it on our product list.

Our Liquor License Conditions

Biltong Shack operates from premises situated in Queensland and all sales are subject to the Liquor Act 1992 (QLD) and other relevant Queensland Laws. Under the Liquor Act 1992 (QLD) it is an offence to supply alcohol to any person under the age of 18 years of age. The maximum penalty for supplying liquor to a minor is $25,000. For any person under the age of 18 years of age purchasing or receiving liquor the maximum penalty is $2,500. By proceeding to purchasing any alcohol products you warrant that your 18 years or older and are legally entitled to purchase alcohol. We record all IP addresses and personal details of users purchasing through this website and they will be handed over to the Queensland Police Service or Office of Liquor & Gaming Regulation authorities if obliged to under Queensland Law.

 

Do NOT purchase alcohol if you are unsure of your legal entitlement to purchase alcohol under Queensland law.

 

Our current LIQUOR LICENSE restricts the sale of alcohol AS PART OF A GIFT BASKET containing a selection of other products. To ensure your order reflects this requirement a mandatory gift bag will be added for a fee of $0.20c

 

• The liquor value must exceed 25% of a transaction

• Liquor is limited per transaction to a maximum of

 

o    2 litres of beer, cider or wine and

o    liquor other than beer, cider and wine 1 litres per transaction

 

Example; you are allowed to purchase liquor to the value of $25.00 together with a minimum of $75.00 of grocery, biltong products or accessories from our shop.
